Question type controls the player input and the marking rule. Always use Preview & test after changing type because the correct-answer fields also change.

The eight question types

  • Short text: case-insensitive text matching with accepted aliases. Entries that cannot be resolved automatically can be graded by the host.
  • Multiple choice: one correct option from up to six choices.
  • True/false: a two-option objective answer.
  • Multiple select: the submitted set must contain every correct choice and no incorrect choices.
  • Numeric: exact matching or a configured tolerance. In Closest Wins, distance can be used for later adjudication.
  • Ordering: every item must be in the configured sequence.
  • Matching: every left-hand item must be paired correctly; the editor supports two to eight pairs.
  • Buzzer: records the fastest buzz so the host can control the result.

Text normalisation

Quizora normalises letter case, common curly quotes and repeated whitespace before comparing text. Add aliases for legitimate alternatives, abbreviations or common spellings; do not use aliases to hide an ambiguous question.

Points, bonuses and penalties

Every question has a base point value of at least one. Fastest Finger or an enabled speed-bonus rule can add points according to response time. An incorrect-answer penalty only applies where the event configuration enables it, and scores stay non-negative unless negative scores are explicitly allowed.
